Javid specializes in the social and political contexts of radicalization and is currently a research assistant and Ph.D. fellow at the Faculty of European Studies at Babeș-Bolyai University. His doctoral research focuses on the radicalization of center-right parties, particularly in response to the influence of radical-right parties. By examining coalition formation, competition, and indirect influences, his study aims to understand how these interactions impact the political positioning and policy platforms of center-right parties. Through qualitative case studies, he seeks to uncover the causal mechanisms driving this radicalization.
In addition to his academic work, Javid hosts a podcast with Europe Elects, where he discusses European political developments, especially elections and party dynamics. He is passionate about contributing insights on European party politics, populism, and radical-right movements, and is eager to engage with others in this field. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Baku State University and a master’s degree in international relations and diplomacy from Leiden University.
