Violette Mens is based in Marburg, Germany, writing about knowledge production on radicalization and its translation into political action. Her dissertation “Dynamics of Knowledge Production: Understanding the Dominance and Diffusion of Security Cultures around Radicalization” is supervised by Pr. Thorsten Bonacker from the Philipps Universität Marburg and Pr. Leena Malkki at the Universität Helsinki.
With a postgraduate degree in social sciences applied to the Middle East from the Ecole Normale Superieure of Lyon and an undergraduate degree in anthropology at Université Lyon 2 Lumière, Violette brings her anthropological perspective added to her ability to analyze political content to this research.
