Welcome to the second 2026 edition of our newsletter!

For this penultimate issue, we decided to take a self-reflective look back at the past three years. To do so, we asked our doctoral candidates to share their experiences of the doctoral journey: How did they perceive the process of their doctoral projects? What were some memorable moments or fun anecdotes along the way? In this issue, we are happy to present a selection of their reflections.

As usual, we also provide updates on recent publications and other news before our next and final issue offers a broader retrospective.

Welcome to the first 2026 edition of our newsletter! We have just returned from our last official consortium meeting in Cluj-Napoca (March 23-26) and are excited to share new blog posts and updates from our doctoral candidates.

Along with news from the beginning of the year, we continue giving you a glimpse into our doctoral candidates’ workspaces, where their doctoral projects are increasingly being polished to perfection.

2026 also marks the final year of VORTEX and, with it, an exciting final phase for our doctoral candidates. The next two issues of the newsletter will therefore focus on reflection. We want to invite everyone to make the most of this opportunity, and therefore, we may ask you individually to share some reflective thoughts soon.

Welcome to the fourth and final newsletter edition of 2025! Our doctoral candidates have been incredibly busy as the year winds down, and we have plenty of exciting news and insights to share with you.

This edition features a selection of new blog posts that have been published since our previous newsletter. Moreover, we are launching a new section that gives a peek into our DC’s workspaces – after all, this is where we spend most of our time right now, eagerly writing up our empirical chapters.

Welcome to the third edition of our newsletter of 2025! As we move slowly towards the end of the second year of the PhD, new insights from our doctoral candidates are beginning to emerge. Greetings and welcome to our second edition of our newsletter in 2025! The year started with great momentum, highlighted by an inspiring consortium meeting in Turin. Our doctoral researchers are deeply engaged in their projects and gaining valuable insights during their secondments.

This May, PRIF is pleased to host four VORTEX doctoral candidates, who are taking a moment to reflect on their work and share early findings, while being in the midst of intensive research.

In this edition, we’re excited to share that many new blog posts have been published in the past three months, offering fresh insights into our ongoing research and current issues. We also reintroduce our VORTEX doctoral researchers, provide updates on their projects, and report on our recent meeting in Turin.

As autumn settles in and the year draws closer to its end, it’s time for some updates from the VORTEX doctoral network! Welcome to the November 2024 edition of our newsletter.
